India · news & creator analysis

You are not reading the news.
You are reading a feed.

Most of what reaches you about Indian politics arrives through a ranking system optimised for your attention, not your understanding. It is very good at showing you more of what you already believe.

Tathya takes a single story and lays out how every creator covering it actually framed it — with the quote, the timestamp, and a link to the original. Not a verdict on who is right. A map of who said what, so you can decide.

01

Evidence, not labels

Every position links back to a timestamped quote in the original language. Nothing is asserted about a journalist that you cannot check yourself.

02

More than left and right

Indian media does not sort onto one axis. Coverage is read on four: where it stands on the government, how it treats the courts and agencies, whether it sources its claims, and how hot it runs.

03

Silence counts

What a creator declines to cover is often the clearest signal. Stories are tracked across everyone, so omissions are visible too.

About Tathya

Tathya (तथ्य, “that which is”) is an independent news analysis project covering the Indian media landscape. It collects short-form video from news and journalism creators, transcribes it, and publishes a page per story showing everyone who covered the event and how each of them framed it.

Positions are read from the transcript by a language model and scored on four axes, then averaged across everything a creator posted on that story. Every score links back to the clip it came from. The intent is to describe the coverage, not to adjudicate it.
